Founded in 2023, the Global Foundation for Agricultural Journalism (GFAJ) is a UK-registered charity (no.1205235) dedicated to building capacity throughout the global agricultural journalism and communications industry.
The charity’s founding trustees are the four members of the Presidium of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists. They are bound by GFAJ’s constitution to hold elections within the charity’s first 12 months.
In August 2024 GFAJ will hold its first Annual General Meeting (AGM), when 10 new trustees will be elected. Three of the four Presidium members will stand down; the IFAJ Treasurer will remain in place and become GFAJ’s 11th trustee.
Seven of the new elected trustees will be drawn from IFAJ’s member guilds; three more will be ‘external’ trustees who do not hold IFAJ membership.
